Requirements for begin studying the course: Understanding the importance of business etiquette knowledge and skills to maintain a positive corporate image of a company / institution / enterprise, to create and maintain a personal professional image, to interact effectively with colleagues and (foreign) business partners and for a career development. Interest in the topic.

What will be studied:

Business etiquette as an integral part of corporate culture.

National features of corporate culture formation.

Business etiquette as the basis of business behavior.

Rules and norms of etiquette and protocol generally accepted in business:

  • features of business communication (verbal and nonverbal);
  • style and image of a businessman/businesswoman;
  • communication by phone, by e-mails;
  • business meetings: how to prepare and to hold;
  • business meals ( how to plan and organize, way of conduct during business meals, how to solve problems that may arise)
  • features of communication (verbal and nonverbal) with representatives of different countries and regions of the world;
  • the concept of time in different business cultures of the world;
  • specifics of conducting business meetings with foreign partners.

Why is this interesting / worth exploring: Awareness of the importance of business etiquette as an integral part of corporate culture, knowledge of its rules, the ability to use them accordingly allows one to maintain the image of the company / institution where a person works.

It also helps one to create a personal positive business image, to focus on achieving professional / life goals and to avoid unwanted mistakes and misunderstandings while communicating and working with (foreign) business partners.

What can you learn: To communicate effectively, to look and behave professionally and to act accordingly while organizing and conducting meetings, business meals with colleagues and (foreign) business partners. It will give one an ability to strengthen the positive corporate image of the company / institution, as well as to increase one’s competence and value as an employee and a member of a team.

You can acquire skills:

  • maintain a positive corporate image of the institution / company, create and maintain one’s own positive professional image;
  • effectively communicate with (foreign) business partners, colleagues, using verbal and nonverbal means;
  • communicate effectively by phone/mobile and by e-mails;
  • prepare and hold meetings with (foreign) business partners;
  • plan and organize business meals, conduct properly during such meals and solve problems that may arise.

How to use the acquired knowledge and skills: One can use acquired skills in everyday and professional life / in business situations, while interacting with colleagues, friends, business (foreign) partners.

These knowledge and skills will provide one an additional confidence in (business) life.
